Traditional Greek cuisine and meat from local farms for barbecue, is what we cook for lunch or dinner. On winter you can enjoy your meal by the fireplace and on summer on the veranda under the shade of the trees. Don't forget to leave room for our desserts, different every season but always a nice surprise.
In Petrino we'll make you feel like home. We only have 4 double rooms with central heating for winter season when the refreshing air of the mountains will keep you cool on summer.
The pension is surrounded by a beautiful forest making your stay here an escape from the real world.
Homemade jams from the fruits of the garden, traditional pancakes and sourdough bread made here are some of the goodies we offer for breakfast.
The lake
Tsivlos has been inventoried by historians as a big village since the 16th century, now only a settlement is what is left from the old village. In 1913 a huge landslide destroyed the old village and thousands of tons of earth closed the bet of Krathis river creating the lake. The land scape around the lake is breathtaking and doesn't give evidence of what created this new paradise. The depth of the lake has been measured 80m in the center.
Akrata is about 150klm far from Athens on the highway to Patras. Lake Tsivlou is 28klm far from Akrata on the mountain Chelmos. On your way from Akrata to Tsivlos there are only two villages Pyrgos and Valimi. Petrino is only 200m before you reach the lake.
Sight seeings
This area is surrounded by beautiful forests, making it ideal for trekking, biking, fishing in the lake or the river and even swimming on summer. There are some beautiful villages to visit, like Zarouchla (12klm from here) and there is also a road to the ski resort of Kalavrita (about 15klm from here) . The mythical Styx river where Achilles baptized and became immortal is part of the European path E4 on Chelmos mountain near village Solos.
